Celebrate the lead-up to Hanukkah with the return of this special weekend in the mountains!
Curated by Jewish Food Society and presented by Scribner’s Catskill Lodge, we are excited to share the second annual A Jewish Catskills Weekend, taking place December 12 to 14.
This celebration brings together Jewish food, art, culture, and community for a full weekend in the Catskills. Expect memorable holiday meals, thoughtful conversations, and creative programming that honors Jewish traditions both old and new.
Begin the weekend on Friday, December 12th at 6pm with a gathering that connects past and present inside the historic Hunter Synagogue
Join Marc Chodock, Managing Partner of Escape Hospitality, and our partners at The Jewish Food Society, alongside former Synagogue President Carol Slutzky and current President Lauren Kashman, as they share the story of Jewish life in Hunter, reflecting on the synagogue’s legacy, its role in the community, and the traditions that continue to shape the area.
From there, ease into a gentle welcome to Shabbat in the sanctuary. Led by Jerusalem-based spiritual leader Chaya Gilboa, this gathering offers reflections on the weekly Torah portion and a shared moment of intention setting as we enter Shabbat together.
The moment closes with Kiddush light bites and refreshments prepared in collaboration with Fellow Mountain Cafe.
