In our efforts to continue moving forward with our transition to an inclusive congregation we have purchased, with guidance from Rabbi Bella Bogart, ON THE WINGS OF AWE Machzors for the High Holidays. These now books will replace the Binbaum Machzors that we have used for the last 35 years.

We are extending two opportunities to you, our valued congregants in regards to these books, both old and new.

First, if you or a family member dedicated any Birnbaums, either in honor of and/or in memory of someone, you are welcome to have a look through the books and take any that contain dedications that you or a family member donated.

This can be done either when you attend 1st Friday Shabbat Services or Rosh Hashanah/Yom Kipper Services or by special arrangement. Any books remaining unclaimed after the High Holidays will be donated to another Synagogue or organization, if we can find one that would like them.

We will not be sorting or mailing any books. It will be your responsibilities to find and take your own books. If you can’t make it to a scheduled service you may be able to make separate arrangements, but we will have a time limit on how long we will keep remaining booked.

Second, and most importantly, in order to defray the costs of the new books, we are appealing to all of you to make donations for bookplates that will be placed in each new book that is dedicated. We have purchased 75 copies. The donation is $36.00 per book.

Please print out the Bookplate Order Form and fill-in with information you would like to have written on the bookplate.

Please keep the dedications in keeping with the guidelines: simple and short in order to fit on the bookplates which will be hand written. If you do not have the ability to print the form you may request a hard copy be sent to you.
